Continuous Improvement Coordinator:

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 5+ years facilitating continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment in a management role
  • A visionary with the ability to “pull” the organization into a complete LEAN environment and ensure its sustainability
  • A highly demonstrated ability to lead people from the side.
  • The expertise to think and plan ahead over a 3 to 5 year time span.
  • The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Be able to perform problem analysis and resolution at a strategic and functional level based on the principles of LEAN, TQM and Six Sigma.
  • Have the ability to make effective and persuasive presentations.

The Job:

Reporting directly to the CEO, the following briefly describes our expectations of this position.  While not limited to these areas the successful candidate will provide organizational support and change management leadership in our continued LEAN journey as a(n):

  • Agent of change through the provision of mentoring, and training on the use of process improvement tools and methodologies supporting the Kaizen culture through the organization
  • Harmonization of Kaizen mandates to corporate goals and objectives
  • Coordination of various continuous improvement programs associated with the Kaizen workshops
  • Review and reporting of statistical analysis of performance improvements related to improvement programs and workshops
  • Support of project owners to ensure sustainability of improvement process

Competencies:

          Work Experience and Job Skills:             

  • Progressive experience effectively leading teams and CI projects in a job shop manufacturing environment
  •  Must have proven ability to provide support and leadership resulting in sustainable results
  •  Will possess the demonstrated ability to impact the organization quickly, with a history of achieving goals verified through metrics.
  •  Positive, high energy candidate who is aggressively constructive and adaptable to change.
  •  Proven ability to understand complex machining production flow.
  •  Team building and effective development of talent in the competencies required for a dynamic LEAN culture
  •  Strong communication and interpersonal skills with data driven analytical ability.

          Academic, technical and professional competence:

  • Mechanical Engineer, P. Eng. (or working towards)
  • TQM Certification
  • Six Sigma Black Belt
