Heat Treat

The Ideal Candidate:

• Reading and understand blue prints,

• Cleaning and masking of parts,

• Assembling and scheduling efficient loads while ensuring delivery requirements are not compromised,

• Loading & unloading furnace,

• Familiarity with hardness testing, carbon testing, and etching of parts,

• Knowledge of a quench press,

• Experience in the operation of a small lathe and grinder,

• Systematic trouble shooting skills

• The ability to adapt to variety of process control situations as required.

Personal Aptitudes

• Capability to work with moderate supervision in a fast paced environment

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

• Proven ability to organize and facilitate multiple projects in an accurate timely manner.

The Job:

• Safe operation of  forklifts and overhead cranes,

• Operation of roto-blaster and bead blaster,

• Loading & unloading heat treating baskets under supervision,

• Masking parts as specified on drawings and/or job traveller instructions,

• Understanding furnace load and case depth requirements to communicate needs to Focus Factory Managers for efficient batching of loads,

• Basic operation of quench press  and hardness testing under supervision,

• Basic understanding of furnace controls, and heat treating procedures,

• Documentation of heat treating records,

• Measuring and inspection under supervision

• Various other duties which may be assigned from time to time including work in other areas.
